Recuperating In Wimbledon

20/6/14 Friday
Last years foxes.

These last four days we have been recovering from jet lag. My Grandparents have a really nice English garden, it's summer here and all the flowers are blooming. In the garden there are squirrels and lots of English birds, most afternoons and mornings a red fox comes trotting through the hedge and snuffles around for food. My grandparents think its one of the cubs from last year.

This years fox.
Dad bought a big silver R1100RT on Wednesday so we took it out for a spin this afternoon it's not as smooth as our red one in Australia but it is really fun. London traffic is so different to Australian traffic, traffic in London is so fast and often motorbikes go up the inside of a queue or cut through small gaps. It is often very rough riding around London because you have to change speeds and gears a lot. Public transport is also different, there are so many routes you could take on the bus and train that it gives me a head ache.

But altogether London is not so different to a big city in Australia. There are only little things like the shopping trollies have baguette holders and the school uniforms are so smart! Boys wear long trousers, a coat and tie all year round at most schools.
Our bike.

One school uniform.
We are going to go to Wimbledon fair tomorrow with Uncle Andy and his girlfriend Jacki, I hope its going to be a great day.

  1. Thanks for your wonderful descriptions as I get a very good picture in my mind of what the garden looks like - stay safe on that motorbike!

  2. What a great start to your trip. Are you doing the touristy stuff like the double decker bus tour? I would love to know what you think of the buildings and History around London.
